The Department of Design has announced the opening of two doctoral positions within the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Program, as part of the CoDesign4Transitions project.
CoDesign4Transitions is a four-year doctoral network that brings together eight universities in seven countries to recruit and supervise a group of 13 transdisciplinary doctoral candidates involved in research focused on three main objectives related to co-design, design for sustainability, service and systems design, democratic innovation, and climate transitions.
Prototyping new technologies and data to enhance democratic participation for climate transitions
Under the supervision of Marzia Mortati, with the co-supervision of Cabirio Cautela, the project focuses on studying practices and theories of democratic participation in data-intensive and technology-mediated processes to strengthen public engagement.

Scaling out public participation and co-design practices for climate transitions.
Supervised by Francesca Rizzo, in co-supervision with Alessandro Deserti, this position focuses on the study of co-design practices involving public organizations, adopting a systemic perspective, and investigating how they acquire new knowledge and capabilities to support their transformation.
