The project has as its theme the documentation and valorization of the cultural heritage (in terms of craft artifacts, traditions, rituals, knowledge) of the transboundary Alpine areas.
It is supported by the AESS (Archivio di Etnografia e Storia Sociale - Ethnography and Social History Archive) - Lombardy Region which, with Law n. 27 of 23 October 2008 "Valorization of the intangible cultural heritage", recognizes the importance of this heritage and supports specific interventions for its safeguard and valorization.
The competences in cultural heritage design have been expressed within a multidisciplinary team (made up of researchers and experts also from other departments, universities and institutions) in which Design&Humanities methodologies applied to field research campaigns, communication strategies, community participatory procedures, multimedia narratives aimed at the Intangible Search Inventory have been tested.
On the whole, the contribution has oriented the regional policies in terms of material and immaterial heritage valorization, insisting on the importance of multidisciplinary models of cultural based meta-design.
