Working on and with a territory, promoting cohesion and a sense of community has been the goal of hubout since the beginning.
Starting from the artistic production, from the idea of participated in public art, was instead the winning choice that allowed to trigger processes of territorial animation also capitalizing the skills of social workers.

Central is the participatory process, but equally important is the final product, aesthetically beautiful because it is a craft and artistic artefact at the same time. The temporal dimension is essential. The process and the product must be in a limited time and not dilated. Art creates because it frees the creative resources of a territory from the constraint of the norm, of routine, in the name of the work of genius, of the unique work that does not commit except for the time of its realization. For this reason, it cannot be repeated continuously.

Forms of maintenance must be found, as well as other forms of activation and territorial animation. But art is not only for this. Giving life to new connections or reconnecting links means provoking. Public art must provoke confrontation and discussion and promote a critical sense, an engine for the sense of initiative that drives people to meet. At the base of every community action, there is listening to the needs of a territory. With Hubout we wanted to interpret the need as the expression of a desire. We then understood and discovered that there was and still is a desire for beauty, care, knowledge, meeting and social relations.

The Department of Design develops research and experiments in the field of shared work spaces such as coworking, incubators and fablab in Europe, to investigate the elements of success and their role within the communities that host them. The University wants to offer students a stimulating space for the development of innovation projects with an entrepreneurial vocation.
