This year Politecnico di Milano is scientific partner of Wired Next Fest.
The theme of this edition is "Essenziale", a concept to be rediscovered to inspire the choices and decisions that we, as individuals and society, will have to make in managing our online lives, in our relationship with technology, in building a more sustainable model and for the future of businesses.
For the Department of Design, Associate Professor and coordinator of ESALAB@PoliMiDesign, Annalisa Dominoni, will take part to the talk "Italiani tra le stelle", which will focus on Italian research in space, specifically on the conditions for exploring it and on designing structures usable by astronauts.
Moreover, during the event, the ESALAB@PoliMiDesign laboratory will present the projects developed by the students of the Space4InspirACTion (S4I) course, MSc in Integrated Product Design, supported by the European Space Agency (ESA).
With John McFall, the first parastronaut selected by ESA and testimonial of the S4I course in architecture and design for space, the students explored the concept of "new normal for a new environment", where the barriers between able-bodied and disabled in space vanish in favor of a new definition of normality that confronts an environment governed by different physical laws.
