From January 30 to February 1, the seventeen partners involved in the UGPplus project, coordinated by Politecnico di Milano under the scientific guidance of Full Professor Alessandro Deserti in collaboration with post-doc fellow Beatrice Maria Bellè from the Department of Design, will meet in Barcelona for the kick-off meeting.

As part of the Horizon Europe programme, UGPplus is investigating how to sustain the implementation of the EU Nature Restoration Law through the development of Urban Greening Plans, thanks to the contribution of partners from heterogeneous fields such as urban studies, ecology, natural sciences, economics and politics, together with five different cities (Barcelona, Paris, Belgrade, Burgas and Mannheim).

The meeting will include round tables, open discussions and brainstorming sessions involving the consortium and stakeholders from the host city on the potential and strategies for defining Urban Greening Plans, channelling past and current experiences and focusing on best practices, gaps and problems to be addressed.
