POLIMI DESIS Lab, research group of the Department of Design, has been awarded with an honourable mention and the third prize at Seoul Design Award 2023 for Off Campus Nolo, the living lab of Politecnico that develops new spatial/service design projects and transformative actions to enhance the wellbeing of the neighbourhood.

Off Campus | Il Cantiere per le Periferie is an initiative promoted by Polisocial with the aim of strengthening the presence of Politecnico in the city of Milan and the idea of a university attentive to social challenges and close to territories and communities.

The activities of Off Campus Nolo:

• an observatory on issues related to neighborhood regeneration and reactivation;
• educational laboratories and workshops, seminars and lectures open to the neighborhood, exhibitions and displays, public events;
• co-design activities, dialogue and meetings with local and institutional entities;
• a neighborhood archive, open and accessible, where to collect documents, research, university theses and projects, as a heritage for the neighborhood and the city.

The Seoul Design Award is an international design award celebrating designers or collectives that have tackled complex problems in our daily lives through innovative projects, contributing significantly to fostering a sustainable bond between individuals, communities, society, and the environment, leaving a positive impact on the world.

Off Campus Nolo, after receiving the Ambrogino d'Oro last December, continues to collect national and international recognition, demonstrating the commitment of the POLIMI DESIS Lab research group in recent years.
